Wherever I go, I strive to be actively involved in my community.

ΣΝ Fraternity, ΔΣ Chapter

As a college sophmore I assumed the responsibility of being our representative to the Interfraternity Council. In my junior year, I was elected to the executive board position of recorder. In this role I took an active role in leading the fraternity and acted as a liason with our national branch. My senior year I co-chaired our LEAD committe, organizing leadership seminars for our members.

ΛΣ Honor Society

After proving myself freshman year, I was inducted into the sophomore honor society ΛΣ. As a member I participated in several community service events, including running a clothing drive and operating a soup kitchen.

Student College at Carnegie Mellon

Carnegie Mellon offers passionate students the opportunity to share their knowledge with their peers. After taking a short class on effective teaching, I led two for-credit classes: one on the Perl programming language, and a less serious practicum on the strategy behind the Warcraft III mod, DotA.

Carnegie Mellon Peer Tutor

At CMU I served as a Computer Science tutor, leading individual "one-on-one" sessions as well as group "walk-in" sessions. As part of the CMU's process of selecting potential tutors, I took part in a tutoring practicum.

Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow

I progressed through the ranks of scouting to become an Eagle Scout, building an indoor/outdoor quail enclosure to benefit the local YMCA as my culminating project. After reaching Eagle Scout, I continued on to become a Brotherhood member in the Order of the Arrow.
